Networking for Disaster Education Research

This project brought together disaster researchers, educators, survivors and bereaved families from the UK and South Korea to facilitate dialogues about disaster education.

In January 2022, we hosted a 2-day conference in Southampton with speakers, discussants and audience from the two countries. In January 2024, a webinar on education and disaster justice focused on the Grenfell Tower fire, the Hillsborough disaster, and the Sewol Ferry disaster.

In 2022, 2023 and 2024, Scott Gabriel Knowles hosted Disaster Haggyo, an interdisciplinary, field-based summer school for the study of disasters. The project members contributed to Disaster Haggyo as instructors and participants.
